How did you survive lockdown?

Lockdown was hard for everyone including me since I had no income.

I am currently unemployed and my little source of revenue comes from gigs.

No gigs meant no income!

I had to use the free time honing my skills and passion indoors.

I was doing rehearsals and participating in online parties.

Now that the entertainment industry has opened up again, is business booming?

Business on my side is picking up as I have had multiple gigs.

We are back and hustling!

Where do you want to be in the next five years?

Well in the next five years I want to be a well known female DJ, doing international gigs and knowing that I am someone’s role model.

On that note, who is your role model?

My role model is my uncle because he taught me that when I fall down I should get back up and learn from my mistakes and not care of the circumstances in life.

He encouraged me to keep climbing the ladder to success no matter the difficulties I encounter on the way.

Do you bring your own set for a gig or do you play according to the crowd?

I always come with my own set because I know the type of songs my crowd enjoys.

I always make sure I include newly released songs to keep people dancing.

I am a DJ that introduces new/unknown music to the people, we can’t be vibing to the same songs every weekend!

Have you ever been booed off stage or forced to change your set?

Actually no, I have never been booed from the stage but instead I was once removed from the stage by the resident DJ because according to him ‘I was boring!’ Deep down, I knew he was feeling threatened by the response I was getting from the crowd.

Who is your celebrity crush?

I am sure everyone knows that I have a deep crush on the Afrotech/Afrohouse DJ, Da Capo.

Uncle waffles or Lamiez Holworthy?

I would go with Lamiez.

I love her confidence when behind the decks.

Five things people don’t know about you?

1. I am my mother’s only child
2. I am single
3. I love dancing even though I am not that gifted
4. I love food and money
5. I am half Kalanga (my father comes from Mulambakwena)
