Convicted rapist allegedly rapes four girls one after the other

Seemingly unable to control his sexual urges, an ex-convict who previously served close to six years for rape is back behind bars accused of raping four underage girls on the same morning.

Accompanied by a friend, who is facing a rape charge of his own, 29-year-old Labone Mokaro is said to have attacked four teenagers – aged 13 and 14 – as they walked to the lands last Thursday.

The minors, who were escorted by a 17-year-old girl, reportedly left their home in Maboaone village, deep in the Kweneng District, heading for Mosarwambe cattlepost on foot early in the day.

As they set off on the 30km journey, the party were blissfully unaware Mokaro and his mate, a neighbour to the girls, were watching and waiting.

It is believed the two men followed in the distance.

Eventually, the suspects allegedly stopped the girls, at which point Mokaro reportedly ordered them to sit down and undress.

Police believe he was armed with a metal rod and threatened to beat the children if they refused.

With his friend keeping guard, Mokaro is said to have dragged the startled girls to a nearby tree one after the other, where he raped them.

His mate, meanwhile, is accused of raping the 17-year-old.

Satisfied, the duo left the youngsters in the bush, who immediately went to report their ordeal to the police.

Both men were arrested, with Mokaro hauled before Molepolole Magistrates Court on Monday.

However, his friend’s arraignment was postponed to next week Tuesday, after he complained off ill-health and was taken to the clinic to receive medical attention.

Charged with four counts of rape, Mokaro, who is originally from Takatokwane village, was remanded in custody, with Chief Magistrate, Gaseitsewe Tonoki warning him he could be jailed for life.

Although he’s no stranger to the courtroom, the convicted rapist looked lost and frightened as he took to the dock.

It is a place he knows well, having stood in the very same place when he was sentenced to 10 years for raping a 21-year-old woman on 29 September 2016.

Released in November 2023, Mokaro finds himself in deep trouble again!
