Shaya
VICE PRESIDENT: Slumber Tsogwane

Wake up slumber, your days may be numbered

Shaya has a strong warning to Vice President, Slumber Tsogwane about developments happening in his party.

It has leaked into Shaya’s sharp ear that a plan has ben hatched by some die hard BDPians to field a tough opponent from the floor to challenge the VP for the Chairmanship at the Botswana Democratic Party Congress slated for July.

I am not talking about Nonofo Molefhi who has already declared his intensions but someone underground.

A good example is what transpired at the National Youth Elective Congress in Bobonong where a team alleged to be aligned to Mpho Balopi did a clean sweep over President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s team.

MABAILA TO UDC

News reaching Shaya is that flamboyant businessman, Tshepang Mabaila is on his way to Umbrella for Democratic Change.

Mabaila will join the UDC under Mogoditshane Constituency where he seeks to represent the coalition as its area Parliamentary candidate for 2024 elections.

He is currently serving a five-year suspension, which he was slapped with in 2018.

Shaya has been told that a Press conference will be announced soon to welcome him.

Having been following Mabaila’s increasing influence in Mogoditshane, Shaya is worried for the sitting MP.

LECHANA RACE HEADING TO COURT

Controversy is following the owners of Lechana 260km Amateur Bush Race, which took place two months back.

Shaya has been informed that some of the service providers who were engaged for the event will be taking the brand to court over unpaid dues.

Shaya is aware of how things turned messy but can the organisers do the right thing already and pay people to avoid causing more damage to the promising brand.

TSHERE AND HIS DOG

A picture of Member of Parliament for Mahalapye West, David Tshere with his dog does not look good for the MP.

The dog does not look well and one may think that the MP is starving it despite his decent salary.

SHAME ON YOU!

Kweneng Regional Football side Thamaga Shooting Stars held player’s awards and the winners received only trophies and no monetary incentive.

Shaya is concerned that the best achievers were not given monetary incentives whilst the club spent money to bring an international guest, retired Zimbabwean professional footballer Willard Katsande to grace the event.

AT THE AWARDS: Katsande

We are not saying clubs should not host the glitz and glamorous events attended by big names but rewarding players is key.

This is embarrassing.

Please respect your employees and put their interest first before those of outsiders.

Shaya hopes next time the club management will do the right thing.
