SARAFINA LEGEND TO LIGHT UP KASANE
Legendary film maker and musician, Mbongeni Ngema will grace the inaugural Botswana Traditional Music Awards on 9th December in Kasane.
Ngema will forever be remembered for the timeless 1992 flick, Sarafina, which featured American superstar, Whoopi Goldberg, and vividly captured the evils of apartheid in South Africa.
He’ll be in Botswana to celebrate art and culture, and also recognise the achievements and success of local artists.
Organisers of the event believe the presence of iconic figures such as Ngema can help bolster the tourism sector, the country’s second-biggest revenue earner after diamonds.
