The lifeless body of a 58-year-old security guard was discovered in a pool of blood yesterday morning at Themashanga clinic, where he was stationed.
Alongside the tragic loss of life, the clinic fell victim to a break-in resulting in the theft of medication.
Assistant Superintendent Motlamedi George of Tshesebe police has officially confirmed the incident and provided details on the ongoing investigation.
“We are currently investigating the death of the man who was found deceased at the clinic. It is a recent development, and our investigations are underway since he was only discovered yesterday morning,” stated ASP George.
The deceased, found with a wound on his forehead, is being treated as a murder victim, prompting a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.
“As we surveyed the clinic where he served as a security officer, we observed signs of a break-in, with medication reported stolen,” disclosed ASP George.
While not divulging further specifics, George did confirm that a native of Themashanga has been apprehended in connection with the incident.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Masunga Magistrates Court in the near future.
The police are continuing their efforts to gather more information and piece together the events leading to this tragic incident.
