FILLED UP:

Drums rolled and guitars strummed amid loud cheers and thumping feet as elated revellers welcomed Franco’s long awaited Soul Fill Up music show at the National stadium over the weekend.

Almost two years after after the show was initially scheduled before the world was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, rhumba music king, Frank ‘Franco’ Lesokwane, fulfilled the promise he made to the fans, filling up the National stadium, in an historic show of his music career.

By Saturday afternoon revelers had already started filling up the stadium, determined to witness Franco’s opening performance of the much anticipated festival.

Although the show started a bit late with the afternoon thundershowers threatening to disrupt the early proceedings, the show proved a success with the rich lineup of local artists putting up scintillating performances that went well into the early morning.

Scheduled to make three performances for the night, Franco’s first set was at 17:00 hours and after much anticipation, he arrived in grand style donning his colorful rhumba regalia and riding on the back of a horse.

The ‘Ke Lela Lona’ hit maker did not disappoint as he took the enthusiastic revellers down memory lane with popular hits from his past albums.

The show comprised local artists such as ATI, Vee Mapeezy, Culture Spears, Alfredo Mos and Matsieng among others.

ATI proved once again that he was a force to be reckoned with as he was greeted by a loud cheer from the crowd and his performance did not disappoint either.

Alfredo Mos with his band, Les Africa Sounds rolled back the years with their yesteryear songs while the traditional group, Matsieng performed their hits too such as ‘Mankoko’.
