Amapiano enthusiasts are in for an explosive early festive treat on Saturday, as, after months of build-up, the Simply Piano music fest finally makes its debut.
Taking place at GC’s Game City Parkade, the gig is brought to you by Boxyard Events, who have done their thinking way outside the box when coming up with this one.
With a host of stars lined up to perform, none shine brighter than the headline act, Kamo Mphela. The South African singer-cum-dancer, 23, has enjoyed a spectacular year, with her smash hit ‘Dalie’ receiving a jaw-dropping 1.8 billion views on TikTok.
Adding further stardust to the line-up are ‘Dipatje’ hit-maker Felo le Tee, Thakzin, DJ Ngwazi, FME DJs, Bunny and so many others.
Who better to host this party than the country’s hottest dancer (looks and craft), the spirited, April Gates, alongside the YAMAs Content Creator of the year, Mdu tha Party and Thuli Toolz?
Confident that the show will live up to the hype, the Boxyards Events team explained they christened the gig Simply Piano ‘to capture the timeless essence of this musical extravaganza’.
“From 2pm until 6am the next day, we aim to create an atmosphere where time seems to stop, and music becomes a source of unforgettable memories,” declared DJ Modric, a Boxyard Events Curator, who’s also lined up to set the decks ablaze.
With international stars making a nasty habit of pulling a no-show when scheduled to perform in BW, Modric promised fans there was no chance of this happening at Simply Piano.
“They have all confirmed their presence and will surely deliver as expected!” he said.
“The excitement doesn’t end there. We have a surprise act in store, ready to be revealed at any moment; so prepare for an unexpected twist that will take the event to new heights,” Modric teased.
Limited Early Bird Tickets are selling for P150, while Standard Tickets are going for P200.
The VIP Packages on the other hand, range from P2, 000 to P50, 000 – yes, you read that right, 50k!
The most expensive package includes 30 access tags, a P25, 000 bar tab, brand activation space, finger lunch dinner and so much more.
