BPF to table a motion of no confidence on Masisi

Fuel and electricity are going to be luxuries going forward- Butale Botswana Patriotic Front President, Biggie Butale has announced that his party has a motion of no confidence in the offing for president Mokgweetsi Masisi at the next parliament sitting.Butale also revealed that in the event that a different political party tables the motion, the BPF would be ready to support it. “We know that the Botswana Democratic Party will use its numbers in Parliament and our taxes to defeat any effort to legislate for the betterment of the lives of Batswana. This is a real shame and long-standing wake-up call to the nation. We are informed that the regime has inexplicably poked the regional superpower in the eye by appointing an overly racist, right wing lobby group to represent it in the South African courts and going forward fuel and electricity are going to be luxuries. The collective opposition remains the only hope of the nation,” Butale said. Further lambasting government for the current fuel shortage that has hit the country, Butale said it was wrong to subject people to social distress as a direct result of inefficiency and lack of foresight and emotional intelligence by a regime that 'supposedly' won the popular vote at the last elections. He said that recently people were being played like a game of Ping-Pong with panic lockdowns arising from sheer fright based on no scientific evidence of the scale of the Corona virus pandemic that was alleged at the time. Under the leadership of His Excellency Seretse Khama Ian Khama, we negotiated and sealed deals for alternative fuel supply routes to the main corridor that we had. We never ran into the current mess of dry filling stations,” said Butale as he leashed an onslaught on the BDP government. He said that to blame the Corona virus pandemic for fuel shortage was the lowest form of irresponsibility by the government. “We are running into nearly a week now without fuel despite all the assurances given by government that we have the security of local storage of fuel, should we experience the sort of crisis we now have. Where is the fuel?” he asked. Butale added that no amount of lofty words and shocking denial of reality by the government could fool Batswana anymore. “For Botswana Oil and the Ministry responsible for energy to continue to deny that we have a fuel crisis despite the desperate unavailability of any fuel that currently prevails is preposterous. “How can we have confidence in such a government and how did Batswana ever vote for this kind of abuse of the public trust,” asked Butale. The BPF Butale said, stands ready in collaboration with other opposition parties to restore dignity to Batswana.
