JAZZ BY THE WATERFRONT

Bojanala Waterfront has the perfect pick-me-up planned for those suffering post-Independence hangovers, with the vibrant joint hosting a ‘Spring By Day Picnic’ on 1st October.

With a jaw dropping line-up that will have Jazz lovers licking their lips in anticipation, the event is to be headlined by South African legends, Vusi Mahlasela and Sipho Hotstix Mabuse.

The melodic rhythms and soulful tunes continue nonstop, with artists such as Sol Shibambu and Ntshikwane while on the local side it will be Lister Boleseng, Sereetsi and The Natives and Jordan Moozy adding their notable sounds to the day. On the decks will be Shaft People, DJ Spinz and Harry Koata while Dollar Mac and Uncle Maluza will be MCs.

Entrance to this one does not come cheap, with early bird tickets taking flight at P750 for a double, inclusive of a bottle of gin/whiskey or wine.

There’s also the option of P450 ‘just access’ for two, P250 single or P450 with a bottle of gin. For the real big spenders, corporate packages are going for P25, 000, which comes with a 10k bar tab!

The show kicks off at 10:00 in the morning.

GEESPEEZY’S DAZZLING ‘DIAMOND’

Hip Hop DJ, Geespeezy, who used to go by stage name Geespot, has given fans a tantalizing taste of what to expect from his coming album ‘Zawadi’, hitting the spot hard with a dazzling tune called ‘Diamond’.

Boasting a heavy sprinkling of international stardust, the track features Lyrikal Busta from Eswatini, KP Illest from Namibia and BW’s own Zeus.

Produced by Buti On The Beat, the single is already receiving a lot of play and is available for download on Spotify and Apple music.

LEGENDS REMEMBERED

Kelemogile Kelly Ramasu’s new show, ‘Bagaka Ba Pele’, which aims to honour and remember legends of the art industry, will debut on Btv at 1800hrs next Monday.

The 24-minute programme kicks-off by zooming in on the life of sculptor, Masilonyana Radinoga.

With 13 episodes on the way, the focus will be on icons who played a part in shaping the entertainment industry but have since faded from the limelight.

MAPHORISA AND FRIENDS

Exzozo Entertainment have teamed up with Myztro Entertainment to bring, ‘Friends Like These’ to Game City Rooftop this Saturday.

The friendly festival’s star attraction will be the King of Amapiano, DJ Maphorisa, who will cross the South African border with his countryman, Myztro.

The fully-packed show features further performances from: DJ Kuchi, Easy B, Bunny, Teddy Is Not a DJ, Earth, Mr Henny, Zeak, Teaz, Rudo, Chapu and more.

Tickets are going for: P150 General, P300 Golden Circle and P1, 000 VIP, which admits two people and comes with finger foods.
