Bartender celebrates local gins
The past few years have seen more Batswana venturing into the production of alcoholic beverages which have been doing exceptionally well in the market. To celebrate some of these businesses, on October 21st, the liquor store with a difference aka Bartender, will treat patrons to some of Botswana’s most celebrated gins paired with another great pleasure-cheese, at the serene Wagga Gardens.
Last week Thursday, members of the media were invited to the newest lounge in CBD-The Vineyard, for a first class preview of the botanical notes and refreshing crispness of gin paired with different cheeses.
With an assortment of gins ranging from floral, citrus and herbaceous, there was a gin for everyone. Perfectly paired with a variety of cheeses, cucumber and smoked salmon, it became a heavenly and exciting pleasure.
The event, which is said to be Bartender’s first of many, is an exclusive event with only 500 tickets available. The lucky 500 will get to experience DJ Fresh and DJ O’neal setting the stage ablaze, alongside other local artists including Dolphus, Shimrock, Bo Kettle, Shaft People, and Sebaga, with MC Dollar Mac captaining the ship.
Although it was only established in 2021, Bartender has quickly built a respectable brand reputation for their excellent service delivery, which according to its Director Kabo Moitoi, will maintain the standards during the event.
Moitoi further expounded on the decision to supply only local gins at the event, stating that Bartender intends to strengthen collaborations with local alcohol manufacturers by giving them a platform to sell their products through their channel.
“On the day of the event, attendees will get a chance to interact with the faces behind these brands such as Kathiku, Okavango gin, Clemengold gin and Tragelaphus gin, to learn more about these gins and other products they have to offer.”
Tickets are available at selected Liquorama outlets. The VIP package which includes a welcome drink, 5 mini gins, bottomless cheese platter, finger foods, branded gin glass and a six pack tonic sells for P1500. On the other hand, a single General package which includes a welcome drink, two mini gins, charcuterie cheese cone and a six pack tonic costs P500.
