A 32-year-old Botswana Defence Force Lance Corporal’s aggressive behaviour landed him before Maun Magistrate Court on Monday.

Charged with a single count of assault common and another count for threat to kill, Mosimanegape Nyathi allegedly attacked his then lover with fists and slaps and threatened to kill her sometime in August 2022.

“Investigations have been completed. We will be serving him with all our witness statements. May his Plea be recorded,” said Tshukudu in court?

Meanwhile Nyathi pleaded not guilty to both charges.

The court heard that in the evening of August,19th, 2022 Nyathi’s girlfriend, Dignity Malose was at her home baby sitting children when Nyathi visited her and requested her to accompany him back to his house.

Nyathi is said to have lost his cool when the woman turned his offer down and beat her up before he left.

However the angry soldier later returned but didn’t find Malose at home as she had decided to spend a night at the neighbours house.

It is then that the neighbours heard him uttering the words; “Masego o lucky ne ke tsile go mmolaya ebe ke mo lathela mo nokeng ya Thamalakane,” (Masego is lucky I was going to kill her and dump her in Thamalakane River)
