A brilliant 18-year-old farmer Rasheed Khan, will on September,09th host an awards ceremony in Jwaneng to celebrate and acknowledge some of the country’s most dedicated and outstanding farmers.
The J11 Farmers Gala Dinner will be hosted at the Debswana Club Hall’s Jwaneng Diamond Cafe under the theme “Celebrating Farmer’s perseverance and Inspiring the youth.”
The vibrant young farmer who farms in the Machana area, says that the gala dinner, “Is meant to celebrate farmers who remain steadfast in this industry regardless of the hardships they face.”
“The awards ceremony is also meant to encourage the youth to consider farming as a viable career option, and to introduce young farmers to the close farmers community which we hope to build through this initiative,” she said.
According to Khan, the gala dinner which aspires to be an annual event, will recognize and award farmers under different categories such as livestock farming, horticulture, agronomy and bee keeping just to mention a few.
To calm the nerves and anxiety on the awards night, there is a stellar musical lineup to pick up the mood and to give attendees a good time.
Away hitmaker who happens to be the host’s sister, Priscilla K, is booked as the main act of the night alongside Han C and Team Distant.
The big MCs microphone has been entrusted to broadcasters, Benson Phuthego and Phlyhoney.
