Spring is officially here and by the look of things, it seems some of our favourite relationships are starting to melt like ice under the sun!
As if on cue, up-coming RnB and Soul musician, Kesego Lysson has released the perfect remedy to cure a broken heart – a heartbreak song titled ‘Pool of Love’.
Speaking to Voice Entertainment, the genre-fluid 25-year-old musician explained she picked up the microphone to follow in the footsteps of her Gospel-singing mother, Gloria Dzwikiti.
“Being raised by a mother who is in the music industry, music was always a huge part of my life. However, it wasn’t until age 14 when I discovered my singing abilities and decided to focus more on developing that talent.”
Produced by Touch Records, ‘Pool of Love’ marks Lysson’s debut as a recording artist under RNB and Soul genres, although the adaptable singer intends to explore other genres in the future.
Expanding more on the new single, which was released on 10 August, she explained, “Pool of Love generally communicates a message to people that have been in relationships where they gave their all and it didn’t work out in the end. The song was inspired by a heartbreaking situation my friend was in.”
While the friend’s love life took a painful hit, perhaps one can interpret the glass as half full, considering that it resulted in Lysson’s musical breakthrough.
Keen to build her career, the young singer is hard at work in the studio and plans to release an EP by December.
“We all have unique stories and my hopes are to make music that resonates with everybody and bring a sense of contentment and healing in a way,” she said.
‘Pool of Love’ is available on all streaming platforms.
