CALLING NEW POLITICAL HOME: Moswaane

Francistown West Member of Parliament, Ignatius Moswaane, has joined Botswana People’s Party.

The maverick MP will be unveiled at a BPP press conference in Tati Siding this Saturday.

BPP President, Motlatsi Molapisi, confirmed the development in an interview on Wednesday.

“Yes, we’ll be welcoming Moswaane this Saturday, and you’re invited,” said Molapisi.

The BPP leader could, however, not share any further details.

“Just come to Tati Siding and everything will be shared there,” was all he was prepared to say.

Moswaane resigned from the ruling party on 4th August last year after he was put on a 60-day suspension for putting the name of the party into disrepute.

His arrival at the BPP has spelt doom for the BPP Vice President, Mbaakanyi Lenyatso, who announced recently that he’d be taking an indefinite break from active politics.

Lenyatso, who is said to be on BDP’s most wanted list, also announced the termination of his BPP membership as he plots his next political move.

Lenyatso, who was once seen as a natural successor to Molapisi, saw his chances diminish following the arrival of Moswaane, who allegedly also has his sights set on the presidency and a position at the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) top table.

Molapisi would, however, not be drawn into discussing Lenyatso’s resignation choosing instead to focus on the Saturday unveiling of the BPP’s latest catch.

“All I know is that Lenyatso is a member of the party. We are yet to receive his resignation letter,” said Molapisi.
