CONTEMPLATING GREATNESS: The Noble Fields team

Finance consultancy’s attention to detail sets them apart

In the murky, confusing world of finance and accounting, Noble Fields Consultancy is fast emerging as a shining light, expertly guiding clients through the fog.

Established in June 2017 by the impressive Lebogang Tshambane, the company thrives on providing a personal touch.

The 26-year-old accountant’s passion for her work is obvious as she takes Voice Money through her journey this week.

Outlining how her consultancy stands out from the rest, Tshambane, who serves as the Managing Director (MD), explains, “Others just come up with a general plan, they don’t work with the client to better suit their business.

NUMBER CRUNCHER: Tshambane

“What we do is sit down with the client and try to understand and analyze exactly what they do. Each individual, each business is different and as such has specific requirements that are unique to them. We listen to their needs and work with them to create part of, or even a full accounting system better suited for their day-to-day activities.”

So, what exactly does a finance and accounting consultancy entail?

Tshambane and her team of dedicated professionals (which currently sits at four) offer a wide range of services, including compiling financial statements and business plans, budgeting advice, cash flow projections, general bookkeeping as well as various tax services.

“Tax scares people. We try our best to explain the basics and importance of paying and filing. I come in to help the clients with financial statements, handling their books, tracking their spending, ensuring they pay their loans on time, keeping receipts, etc,” continues the BAC graduate.

One of the company’s more popular packages involves in-depth personal financial advice.

“From students in tertiary to adults that are working and also businesses, you’ll find that people are getting their salaries at the end of the month but have no idea how they are using the money.”

Having initially worked remotely, Tshambane set up a base in Mahalapye – her parents’ hometown – last March, opening a small office in Kalafo House.

A month later Covid-19 hit, sending the country into lockdown.

Despite the disastrous timing, the determined youth refused to give up on her dream.

“You can imagine the uncertainty, the fear,” she says, her dark eyes widening as if to emphasize the point.

Describing the last year as a learning experience, the Assemblies of God church member is grateful to the Mahalapye community for their support.

“We’ve been working with individuals, especially teachers to help them with their tax returns. We also help pensioners file. Every step, I explain precisely what I’m doing so they can understand exactly what’s happening and why. It gives them peace of mind. We’re afraid of what we don’t know; knowledge is power!” declares Tshambane, adding her company’s tagline is ‘Expertise Clarity Growth’.

“We provide you with the expertise so that it gives you clarity on what to choose, the best option to go with according to your individual needs. Ultimately, the aim is to help you grow,” explains the diminutive number cruncher.

Having survived the pandemic, Noble Fields now has its eye on expansion.

Future branches in Francistown, Maun, and Gaborone are just part of an overall plan that involves taking the brand beyond Botswana’s borders.

For now, though, Tshambane is focused on restoring public faith in her profession.

“We are very aware that people don’t trust accountants, they’ve been ripped off too many times in the past. We want to be that trusted, respected consultancy, where everyone says, ‘They care for my needs, preferences.”

Judging from the glowing feedback Tshambane and her colleagues have received thus far, Noble Fields is well on the way to achieving this.

Clients, ranging from startups to established businesses, pensioners to secondary school students, UB lecturers to teachers, have commended the company for its ‘dedication, professionalism, enthusiasm and outstanding service’.
