STAR ATTRACTIONS: Ozi F. Teddy and Maff Bizness

The first annual Ghetto Chillas Back to School gig will be headlined by some of the best local hip hop acts.

Slated for Sunday, 1st March at Molapo Leisure Gardens, the event organised by Mr Exclusive Promotions and Green Jam Sundays wil have controversial and talented rapper Ozi F.Teddy starring in the star studded line-up.

The From my heart and “La yaka” hit-maker is also expected to share the stage with the Go Hard Entertainment co-founder B-Blok to perform their latest single Low Low.

Also in the line-up are Go Hard Entertainment crew members Romeo Stunner and Maff Bizness. The two “Trapalanga” artists have a good following, particularly in Francistown.

In an interview with The Voice on Tuesday afternoon, organisers, Comfort Mbutho and Tshepang Fish said they came up with the concept that will appeal to the youth in Francistown.

“This is no ordinary back to school gig. It is youth orientated and kids friendly,” said Fish.

“We’re bringing something totally different. We’ve realised that something has been missing in most of the local events, and we want something our generation can relate to,” added Mbutho.

The two young men are sponsoring the event from their own pockets and have called on other young people to come together and finance their own projects.

“It’s not easy to get sponsorship for such events, but that should never be an excuse. As young people we should stand up and do whatever we’ve to do to realise our dreams. Staying home and sulking over lack of sponsorship won’t help us in anyway,” Fish said.

His counterpart further urged corporate entities to fund youth initiatives as they have the potential to grow their brands.

‘If we can pull off such a fun activity with zero budget, imagine how much we can achieve if we had sponsorship,” quipped Mbutho.

The event gets underway from 10am, with a Family Fun Day. Tickets are sold at all Spar outlets at P30 and at a stall in Gallo.
