MAJOR LAUGHS AT STAYBRIDGE
Brace those ribs because established comedy host, Major Moves Comedy has organised a night of rip-roaring laughter for Staybridge Hotel this Friday (18 August).
Christened ‘Simply The Best Friday Comedy’, the show has attracted international headliners, in the form of South Africa’s JayBoogie and Mbongeni from Zimbabwe. Locally, the jokes will come from: Maatla Ephraim Basha, Augustus, Ribcracker, Thapelo Malani and Shaka.
MC for the night will be Mdala Ka Tje of ‘Ditori Tse Di Serious’.
With the first joke to be cracked at 1930hrs, entrance to this one is set at P150 single or P200 for a double ticket.
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BLACK BALL!
Pool players will be chalking up their snooker cues in Mmankgodi this Saturday, as the King Sarawiwa Pub ‘racks em up’ for the King of the Black Ball event.
Brought to the people by Kgosipula Brothers Charity Events, the action gets underway at 2pm with the group stages, where each player plays three games. After that it’s through to the knock-outs, where there are no second chances: you lose, you’re gone.
As well as plenty of balls, the winner on the day will pocket P1, 500, while second place sinks P750. Third spot is worth P375 while the player who finishes fourth will get to drink their sorrows away with a six-pack.
For those interested in taking part, registration for the tournament is set at 100 Bucks.
MAFIFATSHWANA CULTURAL FEST
Mafifatshwana Cultural Festival is one of the eye-catching events to look out for this weekend.
Set for Saturday at Tlokweng’s VDC Grounds, the traditional extravaganza has assembled an impressive line-up, with the likes of: Dr Vom, Mma Ausi, Culture Spears, Troupe, Serurubele as well as traditional dance groups Mafitlhakgosi and Mabutswapele.
Further performances will come from: Mosanki, Masetlheng Choir, Bomme Matshego, Tlanko Lebeko, Onkarabile Segokgo and others.
Tickets are selling for P30 kids and P70 adults, while P100 gets you entrance and a parking space.
