A youthful man of Goo- Ntloedibe ward in Molepolole surrendered himself to the police after killing his girlfriend at Mokateng lands last week.
Thuto Ramotsamai, 23, is said to have walked to the police station after strangling his teenage lover, Botshelo Mereko (17), to death over a soured relationship.
He is said to have casually told police officers, who listened in disbelief, the gory details of how he killed his girlfriend by twisting her neck and strangling her with a scarf.
Ramotsamai then led the police officers to the crime scene at Mokateng lands near Losilakgokong in the Kweneng District where they were shocked to find the young woman’s lifeless body in the bush.
He was arraigned and remanded in custody by Molepolole Magistrates Court last Friday.
When given the chance to speak, looking shy instead of trying his luck at bail, Ramotsamai told the court that he had nothing to say.
Prosecuting the murder case, Inspector Thema Marumolo pleaded with the court to remand the accused in custody as the investigations were still at an initial stage and that the investigating officer still had to record some statements from some of the witnesses.
The accused will appear for mention on October 20th, 2022.
