With his muscly, ripped physique made all the more eye-catching by several large, intricate tattoos, Tshephang ‘Chyna’ Mokaila could easily be mistaken for a Greek God.
The picture of good health, the 36-year-old fitness trainer is certainly a walking advert for the services he offers.
Speaking to Voice Sport this week, the Ultimate Fitness owner attributed his obsession with keeping fit to his father.
“I remember watching my dad training each and every day and I got excited. He eventually started inviting me to some of his morning jogs, I never looked back since,” he explained.
Realising he could make a living from his passion, Mokaila opened Ultimate Fitness in 2013.
“It offers services ranging from health, personal and group training, aerobics, sports conditioning and sports psychology. The company also manages my personal fitness brand, CMFit, which has a wide range of training programs.”
One of the most popular routines is the ultimate total body weight and functional training program, designed to help a person rapidly lose weight and build muscle.
“This program has different classes that are designed to not just improve your cardiovascular and muscular endurance but also leaves you inspired and motivated.”
With Covid-19 bringing sport to a standstill, the quick-thinking Mokaila improvised and came up with the CMFit Virtual.
“This program came into play when everything including gyms was put to an abrupt stop due to the disease. I had to find a means of making cash while helping people to stay fit in the midst of the pandemic.”
The program has proved a huge success and helped Mokaila take his brand abroad.
“It really paid dividends as I was internationally recognised, as I now have clients from Canada, Austria, Italy and Zimbabwe just to mention a few,” revealed the qualified Aerobics Instructor.
Indeed, with qualifications from Australia, USA (National Federations of Professional Trainer) and Holland (World Football Academy), Mokaila is one of the country’s most decorated fitness trainers.
The muscle-man also serves as fitness coach for the biggest football club in the land, Township Rollers.
“I joined Rollers back in 2014. It was not easy at first because Rollers is a star-studded team and I was still young, so it was a problem to deal with these stars.”
Now a star himself, Mokaila has grown in confidence, establishing himself as an integral part of Popa’s recent success.
“I took it as a learning curve and grew into a better fitness trainer as I enjoyed some real success with the club through the years. It is not a simple task to keep a team like Rollers fit for the entire season and that won them titles,” he declared proudly.
Despite all he has achieved, Makaila still has big ambitions for the future.
“My plan is to get all my training services out to the world. I am currently working on the CMFit application that would see all my training programs and meal plans purchased globally, and the application should be done before the end of 2021!”
