REMANDED: Moabi Molapisi

Investigations into the case in which a 40-year-old man is accused of killing his mother and ex-girlfriend are complete.

Moabi Molapisi allegedly hacked his 64-year-old mother, Kehetwe Molapisi to death with an axe at her home in Maun’s Matlapana ward on 29 June.

It is suspected that after slaying his mum, the accused then drove to the other side of the country, arriving in Ramotswa the following day, where he allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend, Gofiwa Kabelo.

It is thought Molapisi murdered his mother so he could inherit her property. Kehetwe served on Tawana Land Board as a Vice Chairperson at the time of her death.

Giving the case status update on Monday morning, State Prosecutor Sub Inspector Gaseletsapa told Extension II Magistrates Court that investigations were finished.

“We are only waiting for an affidavit from the Police Forensic Laboratory,” explained Gaseletsapa, who successfully pleaded for the double murder suspect’s remand to be extended.

Molapisi will remain behind bars until his next mention, set for 9 November.
