25 -year old Prince Moabi who goes by the name Young Prince is living the life that most local actors only dream of!
Having starred in big South African Productions like Generations, The Legacy, Housewives and Rhythm City, Prince is definitely the one to look out for!
He was raised by his grandmother in Molepolole while his mother went to work in Gaborone to support them.
Let’s find out what he cooked up to turn those big and seemingly impossible dreams into a reality.
How exactly do you define what you do?
I am a singer, rapper, actor, radio host, TV reality star, commercial model and voice over artist.
Please mention some of the work you have done in the past.
I have appeared on South African shows such as Rhythm City, Generations The Legacy , and Housewives just to name a few.
As a commercial model, I have done an advert for Dawn.
I have released a few songs as well.
What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
I cannot choose between featuring on Netflix and Showmax, collaborating with Boity’s company, having my own record label (YP Records) and having my own sneakers.
I know our readers are dying to know how you got the opportunity to work on South African platforms.
I got the opportunity through my Agent LJ Talent which is based in South Africa.
We met on social media after the boss saw one of my videos and invited me to South Africa and the partnership blossomed.
What was the experience like working beside some of SA’s biggest names?
It was an amazing and exciting experience because I got to work with some people that I grew up watching and looking up to.
Most memorable acting moment?
When I forget my lines on set then Mapula Mafole aka Makula on Rhythm City helped me to get my script right.
Another one of my memorable moments was acting alongside Sive Mabuya ,she was so sweet on set and we were rehearsing the script together while shooting The Housewives.
Earlier you told me about a Showmax production you’ll be working on in February, What is it all about?
The name of the series is ‘My other side’, it is all about raising awareness of the LGBTQ community.
I am so excited for this one!
What else are you looking forward to in 2023?
I am dropping an EP featuring some big artists from BW and SA such as Boity ,Jaylee and Kamo Mphela.
I will also be collaborating with a lot of big brands like Havel etc.
I also might open my clothing store and launch my alcohol brand.
What are your other interests?
My other interests are rapping, writing music, cooking and painting
What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who take themselves for granted.
I also hate being ignored.
