Boko’s hAPpy praise

Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) President, Duma Boko has spoken highly of Alliance for Progressives (AP) as the opposition tentatively look to join forces.

Despite the ruling party’s popularity plunging in recent years, a wholly unified opposition remains UDC’s best chance of wrestling power from the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) at the 2024 elections.

Speaking during former Botswana National Front (BNF) Secretary General, Tapiso Kgosikoma’s memorial service last week, Boko revealed the UDC are in the process of bringing AP and Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) into the umbrella.

“There is something special that AP possesses that we lack within the UDC and we have to accommodate them,” he praised.

Boko noted that in his day, Kgosikoma never encouraged them to hate each other hence their decision to work with the BPF.

“Surprisingly, some of those who claim to be believers are the ones who do not want us to forgive while them they pray asking for forgiveness,” he stated, adding they are going to work well with the BPF.
