To welcome in the season of Spring, Maun Cresta is planning a big bash next Saturday (2nd September), at their luscious, spacious green gardens in Matlapana ward.
Chatting to Voice Entertainment this week, the hotel’s General Manager, Seth Mongwaketse explained the party, which is strictly for over 18s, is essentially to celebrate the onset of warmer weather as well as the arrival of water into the Thamalakane River.
“We are basically taking our jackets off and putting jerseys away. We just want to feel at ease and embrace Maun ka monate (Maun fun),” noted Mongwaketse, who also manages Cresta Rileys hotel.
Activities on the day include: volleyball, egg and spoon race, foam swimming and sliding among others.
“Those who want to join in the fun are advised to bring comfortable clothing for the games and swimwear,” added Mongwaketse, noting the booze will be flowing, hence the U/18 restriction.
Single admission is set at P150, while a double ticket is priced at P280.
“We also have a VIP section, where a ticket goes for P600, admits two adults: you get a bottle of Gin and a six-pack of your choice plus tonic water,” said the GM, adding tickets are available at both hotels as well as Liquorama.
The fun continues throughout the day, from 11am to 11pm, with Nature BW and DJ Cue handling the entertainment side of proceedings.
If successful, the event will become an annual occurrence aimed at creating ‘pure joy’ in Maun and promoting local tourism.
“Our hotels will also have special rates for our rooms to cater for those who may be travelling from far. Food will also be sold at the event,” concluded Mongwaketse.
