TARGETTING THE TOP: Jazzlyn Tiah
Jazzlyn Tiah targets the next tier

Don’t let his name fool you: Jazzlyn Tiah is not into slow, classical music but rather fast-paced, high-tempo jams.

The 22-year-old is the latest looking to make a name for himself in Hip Hop. Judging from the success of his debut LP, ‘Mama You Worth It’, a six-track offering released in June, the Moshupa native is certainly worth a listen.

Describing music as a calling, Jazzlyn Tiah says he grew up hooked on the sounds of local heavyweights such as ATI and Noelle, icons he now seeks to emulate.

“Music has always been part of my life. The body of work was basically about introducing myself to local Hip Hop and setting my direction as I plan to make a name for myself!” the singer born Lone Tebeke tells Voice Entertainment.

Despite his lack of experience, the confident up-and-comer secured a number of exciting international collaborations for the LP, most notably South Africa’s Zukie and Mickii from Nigeria.

Charting his career path, the gifted lyricist was quick to hail producer, Dada Kavino’s role in his rise.

“Dada became my messiah as he decided to work with me from the moment we met. He produced beats for me and I jumped into them!”

The partnership saw Jazzlyn Tiah drop his maiden single, ‘Don’t Leave Me’ back in 2019. The pair have remained ‘tight’ ever since.

Buoyed by the ‘amazing’ feedback he received from ‘Mama You Worth It’, the rapper is working on a single which he hopes to have ready for release in September – his birthday month.

“I want to give myself a birthday gift with a hot single!” ended Jazzlyn Tiah.
