At least 50 ladies have shown interest in participating in this year’s Miss Botswana competition billed for the 2nd of October in Gaborone.

This was confirmed by Miss Botswana Organiser, Ben Raletsatsi in an interview with Voice Entertainment this week.

“We have revealed the names of Miss Botswana Top 30 finalists who are expected to tussle for the grand prize on the said date,” said Raletsatsi.

Quizzed about the reigning Miss Botswana Kaone Molefhe’s project as she has been touring different schools, Raletsatsi said; “Miss Botswana should continue the charity work even beyond her reign.” She promised to visit different schools teaching about mental health as we all know that teaching a child whilst they are still young is vital. Moreover, Molefe has now visited at least five schools so far as her work continues,” he said.

Relatsatsi also highlighted the offer for Botswana to host Miss World pageant, “It is a discussion that as we thrash out the merits and demerits of the offer.”

Furthermore, we are still engaging some of the stakeholders that can come on board and assist us as we have the interest to host this auspicious event,” said Raletsatsi who went on to express confidence in the country’s ability to be the host.

“I think we have capacity to host Miss World, this event is a television programme more than anything else. If we can bid to host a sporting event like Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), surely we can definitely host Miss World, “he said
