With a voice sweeter than honey, and a refreshing attitude to match, Han C is one of the most sought after vocalists in the country.

The sugary-voiced star, however, left fans feeling slightly sour last month when he took to his official Facebook page to announce a parting of the ways with his long time-manager and uncle, DJ Boogie Sid.

Wasting little time since going solo, the Mahalapye native will release his first single as an independent artist, with ‘Sebinki’ set to hit the airwaves on Friday.

Keen to talk about his latest offering while also clearing up rumours his split with Sid was due to a breakdown in their relationship, Han C was the epitome of cool as he caught up with Voice Entertainment through the week.

“There is absolutely no bad blood between Boogie Sid and I – remember him and I are related, he is my uncle! The move was purely from a business point and we both agreed it was the best decision,” maintains the 26-year-old award winning singer.

LEGEND: DJ Boogie Sid

“I had been working with my uncle from as far as I can remember, when I was literally a newbie in the industry. He kind of stopped his whole world for me and focused on growing my name and brand and he has done that for the past years. I guess he too had to shift back his focus on his individual career and push for that and so at times there was conflict of interest,” admits the ‘Sedi Laaka’ hit-maker, reiterating the pair remain on good terms.

Indeed, Han C did not rule out the possibility of linking up again with Boogie Sid in the future, noting, “We may possibly collaborate and have features together. There is no bad blood because at the end of the day we are more than business partners, we are family. He is and will always be a big part of my growth.”

Turning his focus to his imminent new release, the pint-sized artist was frustratingly stingy with details.

“You see, when I write a song, I always like to write songs which people can relate to. I don’t want to spoil it for my fans so I would want them to listen to the song and let them relate to it and interpret it in their own way. But basically ‘Sebinki’ is the name of a character in the story,” he teased.

In another exciting, potentially career-changing development, Han C reveals he is on the verge of finalising a deal with Sony.

Indeed, there is a strong possibility his coming album will be distributed by the international company.

First introduced to the limelight as a fresh-faced 18-year-old thanks to his ‘Sedi Laaka’ feature with DJ Crispin back in 2018, Han C’s star has been on the rise ever since.

No stranger to international collaborations, he has regularly been engaged by South African heavyweights, his latest Mzansi link-up coming with Mr Brown and Dr Malinga just last week.

Despite finding fame at an early age, Han C has handled the big stage with impressive maturity, managing to keep his nose clean, conducting his career without so much as a sniff of controversy.

Asked what his secret is, he responds immediately, “I want people to focus on the music and the artists that I am.

I have been through things that I could have talked about or made comments on but I choose to live a private life and it has worked for me don’t you think?”

No chance, then, of Han C giving Voice Entertainment an exclusive peak into his love life?

“I am in a relationship but I can’t really say with who because I would have to ask my partner first,” he concludes with a smile.
