Can collector charged with murder over fatal late-night fight

A can collector has been charged with the murder of a teenage boy following a late night scuffle in Kumakwane in the early hours of Friday.

Sporting fresh stitches at the side of his closely shaved head, Mmoloki Kgosipula, 38, appeared before Molepolole Magistrates Court on Monday (1 September) accused of killing 18-year-old Morgan Rakhani.

It is reported Rakhani and two friends were walking home after an evening of entertainment when they bumped into Kgosipula collecting cans near Save Right Supermarket in Botlhapelo ward.

The trio are believed to have exchanged words with Kgosipula, who seemingly took offence at something said, becoming aggressive and allegedly stabbing Rakhani in the chest with a knife.
