ON THE SPOT: Answering a question to win a prize

The booze flowed and the good times rolled as the goals flew in on a memorable Friday night in Francistown at the FNB Fan Park.

Held on the luscious green grass of Staybridge Hotel, football lovers were in their element as the bank brought the Qatar World Cup to Ghetto via the big screen.

With Yarona FM presenter, Lebowa ‘LB’ Moroen as the energetic host, fans sat back and watched in awe as favourites Brazil were sent packing by Croatia, the Samba Boys losing out on penalties after dominating over 120 minutes.

It proved the appetizer for the main event as their fellow South Americans, led by the magical Lionel Messi, blew a 2-0 lead against the Netherlands in the second quarter-final.

Unlike the Brazilians, however, Messi and co held the nerve from the spot to send Argentina through.

Adding to the occasion, there were goody bags to be won and food to be eaten to help soak up the free alcohol.

Briefly addressing the crowd, which numbered over 50, FNB Francistown Branch Manager, Lucky Bogopa, explained this was the bank’s way of giving back to their loyal stakeholders.

“I would love to thank you all for coming despite your tight schedules. I hope you have fun and an exciting experience watching the beautiful game in a different environment,” said Bogopa, his comments met with raucous applause.
