A 41-year-old mentally disturbed woman from Molepolole’s Legonono ward was found dead in a river at Semarule lands on Sunday morning.
The woman is said to have left home last week Thursday without disclosing her destination and the family did not report her missing to the police thinking that she would return home as usual.
To their shock, the family only learnt from a fellow resident who found the woman’s lifeless body while looking for his missing horse.
Molepolole police station commander, Superintendent Benedict Matlho, confirmed the death incident, noting that after they received a report the police went to the scene and took the woman to Scottish Livingstone Hospital.
“The woman was certified dead by the medical doctor upon arrival at the hospital. Her family did not suspect any foul play,” explained the police officer.
The woman’s corpse is still at the hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem examination.
