Overthrust

One of the country’s biggest rock bands, Overthrust will give fans a tantalizing taste of their new single, ‘Soldiers of Fortune’ later this month.

The group will perform at ‘Anger Management Metal Fest’ on 27 and 28 November and, as well as the new track, will cover all their old albums.

Organised to raise awareness of Gender-Based Violence, both performances will be streamed live on the band’s social media pages.

‘Soldiers of Fortune’ is a ballad that talks of defeating Covid-19 and boasts intense guitar strums and the grave vocals one come to expect from Overthrust.

“This song was recorded in the most difficult and ambushing time of lockdown, a situation we had never experienced before. This song encourages people to always stay strong and be ready at all times to fight against the rough conditions of life without giving up easily knowing that someday the situation will be defeated hence the title,” the group’s leader, Tshomarelo Mosaka told Big Weekend.

The Friday show will start at 1800 until 1930hrs while Saturday’s edition takes place from 1400 to 1530hrs.
