Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTC) has eased Otsile Gabasiane’s financial woes and made his dreams of becoming a commercial farmer a reality.
The pensioner pocketed P200, 000 at the weekend in the BTC Recharge to Win Competition.
A jubilant Gabasiane announced his intention to use his windfall to buy a tractor and other farming equipment. He thanked BTC for helping him ‘change his life’.
The lucky BTC Mobile customer revealed he had recharged with P200 to qualify for the competition, which ran from 13 September 2019 and ended on the 16th January.
The initiative is aimed at rewarding BTC customers, with users required to recharge with P50 or more to be automatically entered into the competition.
To date, BTC has given away a total of P635, 000 and 14 Huawei P30 phones to 46 lucky winners.
Matlhogonolo Maje, BTC Head of Consumer Products explained the idea is to show gratitude and reward customers who continue to use BTC products and services as well as give back to communities that the Corporation operates in.
“We have to reward our valued customers for their loyalty and for continuing to use our products and services,” he said.
