-This past Friday marked the official launch of Paratus Botswana as the telecommunications company celebrated its seven-year anniversary in the country.

The corporate event attracted different stakeholders from across the digital connectivity industry.

Giving a brief background on the business, Managing Director (MD), Shawn Bruwer revealed the journey started back in 2016 with just three employees and a licence form Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA).

“It has been a long journey, with lots of trials and tribulations but it has been a very satisfying one!” declared Bruwer, who we feature on this week’s Meet the Boss (see 6A).

In his address, Minister of Communications, Knowledge and Technology, Thulagano Segokgo noted he was charged with ensuring Botswana has the infrastructure and resources to thrive in the 21st century, including access to fast and reliable modern telecommunications.

“These are services which are crucial for business operations and communities to stay connected and be productive,” he stated, applauding Paratus Botswana for playing a critical role in availing such technology.
