Political analyst, Motsumi Marobela has issued a sharp warning against the Botswana National Front (BNF) leadership urging them against marginalising vanquished members of Team Stability.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with this publication, Marobela said that the party should embrace and accommodate them so that they too may disband their lobby list.

“It is important to reach out to them and if possible rope in some as additional members in the Central Committee.”

He said that just because they lost elections does not mean that they are not important members. He described them as cadres of the struggle with socialist linkage.

“They lost with small margins. Contestation of power was powerful and both sides did their best in terms of campaign.”

He emphasized that the losing team too needed to accept that party members decided to put Team Temple in leadership. Marobela said they will need to work together to help government in governance and policy making to align it with party ideals.

However, Marobela said that all lobbies do not appear to have had solid messaging as they all talked about change without saying what change and how it will be brought about.

Team Stability lost critical positions such as the Vice Presidency, Chairmanship, Secretary General and Publicity Secretary among others.

The loss of Nelson Ramaotwana to Moeti Mohwasa and Ketlhalefile Motshegwa to Stephen Modise dominated the congress post talk.
