Wame Makhandlela, who goes by the stage name Star Lady, has finally dropped her debut album ‘Malata a Kgosi’.
After breaking into the music industry in 2018, until this point Star Lady has dealt exclusively in singles, with three bangers under her belt.
Upping her game drastically, the colourful creative has now dropped a diverse seven-track LP, which includes hints of Afro Pop, House and Rhumba.
As well as the title track, songs to look out for on the album include the opening tune, ‘O Mpatla Kae’, while ‘Bo Phiri’ and ‘Atlamela’ are also well worth a listen.
Recorded at AP records, ‘Matlata a Kgosi’ is a decent effort at a first album, although the star lets herself down slightly with an unimaginative CD sleeve.
