M Jein and MC Maswe join forces

With his career temporarily arrested by Covid-19, Detective M Jein has escaped the handcuffs and is once again shooting for the top.

The 29-year-old singer-cum-dancer has linked up with a veteran in the industry, MC Maswe, on a House Kwasa Amapiano track titled ‘Ditedu’.

Recorded at Genius Studio in Francistown’s Selepa location, the single is set for release before the end of December.

Despite the timing, the song’s subject matter is far from festive and takes on a dark, sinister edge.

“’Ditedu’ is an informative track which raises awareness of older men who indulge in sexual activities with under-age girls. Defilement is a serious offence that damages the victim’s future and can send offenders to prison for a long time if found guilty. Too many men take advantage of young girls, using their status in society or bank balance to lure these girls into bed,” explains M Jein, who plans to drop an accompanying video to go with the hard-hitting tune.

Although he has been an ever-present in the industry since 2006, cutting his teeth mainly as a backing dancer, a role which regularly sees him hook up with Vee, the dreadlocked creative admits working with ‘a legend like MC Maswe’ is a dream come true.

“I decided to feature MC Maswe in this song because he is my role model. I look up to him in so many things. I love the way he does his music and his confidence,” gushed the energetic artist, who has a West African following after his ‘Zanders’ collaboration with Nigerian singer, Daron last year.

Looking forward, M Jein, who rose to fame as one half of the Ghetto group M Jein vs Fizo, plans to drop his third LP soon.

“I want my supporters to know that I am working on a new album containing six tracks. And they have to know that I am back with a bang after being affected with Covid. I want to cover up for the time and money that I lost when the country was on lockdown,” exclaims the excited artist.

For his part, MC Maswe told Voice Entertainment he decided to work with M Jein as he was impressed by the youngster’s work ethic and drive.

“I wanted to raise him up since he is an upcoming artist. If we don’t help them, who will? I felt that I should uplift him since he is a leader of tomorrow in music. I am also passionate about the boy because he is dedicated and committed to music, he takes his art very seriously!” declared the ‘Chisungu’ hit-maker.
