2019 Sports Person of the Year Baboloki Thebe and 400m Sprinter Onkabetse Nkobolo survived a car accident this morning at around 220hrs near Trekkers night club in Mogoditshane.
The 23-year-old 400m track and field specialist, Thebe, is said to have lost control of the VW Golf vehicle he was driving and it overturned. He tested 0.94/100ml.
Nkobolo is said to have sustained fracture on his shin while another passenger, a lady (names known by this publication) from Molepolole is said to have sustained serious head injuries.
The two are both admitted at Sidilega Private Hospital while Thebe did not sustain any injuries.
Mogoditshane Police Station Commander, Superintendent Russ Letsebe, confirmed the accident but could not go into further details noting that it is a fresh matter and investigations are ongoing.
