In a digital world that is seemingly difficult to make a breakthrough, local technician Daniel Demba, 37, is confident of becoming a refined go-to person in terms of equipping society on how they can benefit from the use of technology.
Speaking with Voice Money this past week, Demba who hails from Molepolole said he is currently running his mother’s print shop while he is still en route to establishing himself.
“I am a copier, printer and a technician by trade and I am running a print shop for my mother. However, I recently started an Ecom drop shipping business which I have partnered with my nephew (Alexander Stoneham) and the plan is to expand into affiliate marketing and start teaching people how to build their own website, monetize it, digital marketing with Google and Facebook ads as well as free traffic strategies just to mention a few,” he said.
Demba further said his father is a Zimbabwean and married to his mother who is a Motswana and they have been staying in Molepolole.
“The passion to become a technician started from my high school days where I used to volunteer in digital companies such as Rocoh Business Machines to gain experience. Moreover, the digital and passive income strategies interest started about four years back where I researched and explored various tools and methods to generate passive income and things have been going well thus far,” said Demba.
The aspirant technician shed light on the challenges he came across in his journey. “Lack of capital, the biggest setback as the machines used are costly, lack of support from the fellow Africans in the online space and mentorship is difficult as Covid-19 has taken its toll as well,” said the aspirant technician.
Demba said his biggest ambition is to build an automated pod in the country.
“The plan is to build a fully automated pod (print on demand) store in the country so I can be able to teach aspiring entrepreneurs under the name African Affiliates where we are currently building our learning management system (LMS) website that will be offering free and paid courses on passive income strategies,” he said.
Quizzed about his educational background, he said, “I completed my O’Levels and went straight into the field as an apprentice, studied applied information technology at City and Guilds and fundamentals in Web development just to mention a few,” he answered.
