MAGNUM NO MORE: MOG and Ross leave Yarona FM

Station plans massive shake-up

The winds of change are once again set to breeze through Yarona FM, with the youthful radio station planning a major shake-up for July.

Although the station’s management is yet to confirm the new line-up, reliable sources revealed the changes will affect the 106.6 dial’s morning, mid-morning, and drive time shows.

Voice Entertainment is reliably informed that having kissed and made up with his employers, effervescent morning show host Scar will be teamed up with Boineelo Hardy, who previously hosted ‘Live the talk’.

The mid-morning segment will be taken over by the ever-hyper Lerato Modiega, best known as the host of ‘The Playground’.

The third big tweak will see Leungo ‘King Bee’ Pitse and Kedi ‘Lezozo’ Molosiwa link up for the all-important drive time slot. The charismatic duo were hot favorites to host the station’s popular Awards show and fans will be interested to see how their personalities gel on air.

When contacted for a comment, although she confirmed the changes would be unveiled next Friday (3 July), Yarona FM Station Manager, Keletso Kelly Ramputswa refused to go into further details.

“I have not yet finalized the paperwork with the presenters. It would be amiss for me to discuss with the media the new line up before I could approach them. We will reveal everything when the time is right,” Ramputswa explained.

Meanwhile, the station is coming to terms with the sudden departure of Mogomotsi Mothibi and Thato Tshiamo, hosts of the extremely popular drive time offering ‘The Magnum Show’.

The couple – literally, they are dating – stunned Yarona when, seemingly out of the blue, they handed in their resignation three weeks ago.

However, in a brief interview with Voice Entertainment this week, the lovebirds stressed there was no bad blood between themselves and the station.

“There is nothing strange about our resignation; we just thought we should focus on other things. It was time. We have been with the radio station for years and this was the right time to leave when we are still at the height of our career.”
