Cops arrest third man for Matshelagabedi murder
The cops have arrested a third suspect in connection with the murder of a Matshelagabedi man brutally stabbed to death at a local bar on Sunday 3rd September.
The hunt to find 34-year-old Mbotho Motsamai’s killers has led the police to one Oagile Solomon, who was apprehended in the village last Wednesday.
Arraigned before Francistown Magistrates Court the following day, Solomon, 25, was remanded in custody, where he will remain until 12 October, when he returns to court with his co-accused: Thabo Robert, 23, and Otlhalefile Sejaka, 41, who were detained the day after the murder.
The trio are charged with ending Motsamai’s life in a late-night fight at The Village Lounge Bar.
Reports vary on precisely what happened, with some saying it was a dispute over a lighter, others claiming they were brawling for a woman’s attention and some insisting Motsamai died a hero, playing peace-maker by trying to break-up a scuffle.
The last born of nine siblings, ‘Zulu’, as he was popularly known to friends and family, was laid to rest in Matshelagabedi on Saturday.
Described as a bubbly, easy-going individual, who was quick to smile and had a kind word for everyone, Motsamai will be remembered for his ability to make people laugh as well as his impressive dance moves.
At the time of his death, he worked as a First Aider for MG Investments at Morupule Mine.
