Legendary guitarist, Stiger Sola has dropped a new single ‘Kangoro’, which was recently recorded in Maun and has got the tourist town jumping.
The 67-year-old’s promotion song is already proving to be a hit among locals.
“It reminds me of my teen years when nothing mattered,” reminisces 46-year-old Gaone Ledimo of Shashe ward in Maun.
Her friend Michael Zambo is also a big fan.
“The part that drives me crazy is when he sings about shooting a girl in the morning with a gun, with nature’s stick (morning glory)!”
Between giggles, 52-year-old Zambo describes ‘Kangoro’ as one of the greatest local releases in recent times.
“It’s best understood by us adults. PG rated!” she adds with a grin
‘Kangoro’ is Stiger Solar’s promotion song ahead of his eagerly awaited album launch, which he teases will take place ‘very soon’.
“I have been away for a while, but I was cooking something big and tasty for my fans,” the legend of soul-jazz further explains.
It has been almost a decade since Stiger’s last album release – ‘Ko Morakeng’ in 2010. However, he promised fans that his latest eight-track offering will prove worth the wait.
“Batswana are yet to get the best of Stiger, just watch the space. I will not disappoint!” he concluded confidently.
