Men dress to impress in hunt for glamorous gig
The search is heating up for the new face of Keno Man and gentlemen across the land are pulling out all the stops to secure the glamorous gig.
In October 2020, Daphney Olebile Muzila beat 15 other hopefuls to be voted the female face of Keno; now it’s the men’s turn to shine.
As of 8 August, newsfeeds have been filled with different representations of male sophistication and elegance, as dapper dudes try to prove they can rock a suit like no other.
Spare a though for those on the judging panel because the competition is fierce!
From high-profile artists to some of our favourite influencers, the battle is on for the boys to not only show off their unique flair, but to tell their ‘passion for fashion’ story.
“The Face of Keno competition is more about inclusivity, in order to allow for the average Batswana to also partake and buy into the Keno brand,” explained Keno co-founder, Thobo Kerekang, whose clothing empire turns ten next year.
Outlining the rules of the comp, which runs for a total of eight weeks, VYB Digital CEO, Karabo Letsholo told Voice Entertainment submissions will continue until 5 September.
“After that, the shortlisted candidates will be invited for a virtual interview to discuss their fashion journey, aspirations and ambassadorship ideas,” laid out Letsholo.
After the finalists are announced, the public will get the chance to vote for their favourite on Keno’s social media pages.
Due to their online popularity, influencers tend to prevail in such competitions.
To avoid this, Letsholo noted, “The new Keno Suits Male Brand Ambassador will be revealed based on a combination of public votes and our panel’s evaluation.”
Last week, Keno Finance and Administration Manager, Thato Demi Donald briefed the media on the plethora of prizes up for grabs.
“A P12, 000 grocery voucher from Choppies Botswana, P5, 000 cash voucher and free travel tickets courtesy of Mokoka Transport, six months worth of grooming sessions from Metromen Grooming Emporium, a year’s worth of gym membership from Gymlife Fitness Club, free medical consultations from AO Clinic, a transferable car revamp voucher worth P10, 000 from Tebzafied Car Clinic, Psycho-social Support from Peggy Serame Foundation, exclusive photoshoots and a wardrobe makeover worth P24, 000. Additionally, the winner will get a feature on Botswana’s biggest newspaper The Voice Newspaper.”
