A 39-year-old teacher at Neal Primary School in Molepolole was found dead on Tuesday. The Standard 1 educator took her own life by hanging herself with an electric cable at her rented house in Difetlhamolelo ward.
The deceased, Kagiso Ramo, originally from Mmankgodi village, was discovered by her landlord, who became concerned after not seeing her that morning.
Molepolole Police Station Commander, Assistant Superintendent Motshwari Mokamogo, confirmed the incident, stating they received the report at around 16:43hrs from the 63-year-old landlord.
“According to the landlord, the deceased had previously confided in her that she was emotionally unwell. When the landlord realized she hadn’t seen her that morning, she went to check and noticed a key still inserted in the door’s keyhole,” explained ASP Mokamogo.
The landlord then peered through the window and saw Ramo hanging from the rafters in the passage. She immediately alerted the police. Officers attended the scene and transported Ramo to the hospital, where she was certified dead by a medical doctor.
The deceased had earlier that morning dropped off her 9-year-old child at her school.
