Stress FC donates toiletry and stationary to two Gerald primary schools.
Formed in 1996, Stress Football Social Club based in Francistown last week donated toiletries and stationary to two government schools.
Ghetto’s No.1 as the club is affectionately known, continued their charity work by donating to, Tagala Primary School and Tadabigwa CJSS in Gerald.
Stress SC began their campaign in Tagala Primary School, donating toiletries worth P 4500.00 to pupils, and afterwards honoured an invitation from Tadabigwa CJSS, to attend their prize giving, where they honoured the highest performing pupils.
They then promised to provide the two best performing junior school children a stationary voucher from Century Office Shop so that they may equip themselves with the essential stationery and continue flourishing at school without any hiccups.
“We are not just a football team, we do more than what football teams do, we have a history of giving back to the community since our formation in 1996,” said Enock Mosojane, the team’s Public Relations Office
Mosojane further revealed that their team, which was formed by police officers and soldiers who used to live in Gerald back then is now made up of 80 members from various industries. The social football club was meant to encourage physical and social activity to relieve stress, hence the name; Stress Social Club.
“Our CSR dates back as far as the 90’s. We donated food, money, and shelter to many organisations and individuals such as, SOS, Lephoi centre for the deaf, built a house for one needy person at Shashemooke and also too part in many fundraising tournaments,” Mosojane explained.
The PRO said this donation was only the beginning for the humanitarian work in this season as they will be handing out food hampers to Gerald clinic admitted patients as well as the destitute in Gerald in December.
