Mascom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dzene Makhwade-Seboni last week hosted a Christmas party for the kiddies at Baylor Children’s Clinical Centre of Excellence in Gaborone.
The annual event is part of Mascom’s proud Christmas CSI tradition, in which the company celebrates the festive season with children from vulnerable backgrounds.
The initiative dates back to 1999, in which time the mobile giant’s have covered the length and breadth of the land.
Speaking at the event, Seboni explained that despite the constraints of Covid-19, Mascom were desperate to fulfill their long-standing commitment of bring festive smiles to the faces of children.
Although they could not hold a fun-day as has been the norm in the past, Seboni handed handover gifts, which she hoped would not only make the children smile but ultimately make a difference to their lives.
“As part of our Mascom Children’s’ Christmas initiative, this year Mascom will donate 10 Computers and Internet Wi-Fi service for the Computer lab. We will also provide Outdoor Benches for the young ones to be able to sit outside and enjoy access to Wi-Fi, an essential tool for their educational and entertainment needs.
“We will also provide toiletries, school shoes, Christmas clothes, toys and stationary for the children at Baylor. We hope our contribution will make this Christmas memorable for our children and be a gentle reminder that they are loved and deserving of a caring Yellow Hearted Christmas,” said Seboni.
