Serowe police are investigating a brutal murder where a 27-year-old man allegedly killed his 29-year-old lover. The suspect is believed to have clobbered the deceased with a pickaxe on Thursday evening at Masama lands, located between Serowe and Palapye, around 18:00.
The suspect was arrested the same night and is currently assisting the police with investigations.
In an interview with The Voice, Serowe Station Commander, Superintendent Oteng Poloko, stated that they received the report around 19:00. “Officers rushed to the scene and discovered the woman soaked in blood. She was rushed to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital, where she was certified dead upon arrival,” said Poloko.
He added that the suspect is expected to appear before the Serowe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, charged with murder.
