Molepolole police are following up on an incident where a 35-year-old man choked to death on braai meat while drinking at a shebeen in Goo-Ratshosa ward last Tuesday night.
The unfortunate man was rushed to Scottish Livingstone Hospital by his friends at around 9pm, but was confirmed dead by a medical doctor upon arrival.
Speaking to The Voice on Wednesday, Molepolole Station Commander, Benedict Matlho stressed the matter was still extremely fresh and they were still piecing together exactly what happened.
“The incident reportedly occurred during a drinking spree where they also braaid some meat. The investigating officer is still working on the matter to find out what really transpired. We are still to book for the post-mortem to, which will also assist with finding out if the allegations are true,” said the police boss.
