A case in which twin brothers, Sadique Kebonang and Zein Kebonang together with their co-accused, Kago Stimela, want their National Petroleum Fund (NPF) P250 looting case charges dropped will be heard on the 20th of February next year.

The three are implicated in the infamous NPF money laundering case and had applied for their charges to be dropped saying there is no validated case against them.

The case was heard before a panel of three Judges, Chris Gabanagae, Abednego Tafa and Matlhogonolo Phuthego last Friday for status hearing and argument.

The Kebonang twin brothers’ argument is that the allegations have damaged their reputation and that they shouldn’t have been charged in the first place.

Their argument is that the case has been dragging for too long and that the evidence is not comprehensive enough to try them.

The three judges have given the defence until the 30th of January to file their heads of arguments while prosecution is expected to submit theirs on the 10th of February and the case will be heard on the 20th of February.

The defence and prosecution have been advised to submit their arguments on time so that the judges can have time to study them and come up with questions if there are any.
