A four-year-old boy’s frightened screams helped his family escape a house fire at Mmakanke lands in Kweneng District over the President’s holidays on Monday night.

The fire is suspected to have been caused by a candle which the 38-year-old mother forgot to extinguish when the family retired to bed.

The trio, the woman and her two minor children the four-year-old boy and his nine months old sister lost all their possessions in the one room but escaped with minor injuries.
