RESTRATEGISING: Thato Maphorisa

Botswana National Sports Commission (BNSC) has postponed the Botswana Darts Association’s Annual Elective General Meeting (AGM) which was slated to take place this past Saturday.

This was revealed by BODA’s Public Relations Officer Thato Maphorisa after Voice Sports inquiries.
According to Maphorisa the BNSC decided to re-schedule their AGM due to lack of funds.

“Initially they were supposed to cover all expenses including hotel conference facilities for the live hosting, and for the northern teams who were to attend virtually,” said Maphorisa.

The BODA spokesperson further revealed that the amount including internet costs skyrocketed to P33 000.

“Negotiations to find the right time for the AGM are already at an advanced stage. We know BNSC does not have money to come to our aid but we are going ahead and looking at cheaper options. This is an elective AGM, the voting process is the most sensitive part and casting should be done properly,” said Maphorisa.

Furthermore, Maphorisa reiterated that Covid-19 has hit their sport code the most as they last held a competitive tournament back in December 2019.
