Tragic and painful

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN: Moore

Tragic and painful as his death is to all whose path of life crossed Don’s, there is an undeniable gratitude for the memories we hold and cherish of this great son of the Universe.

Don’s life proved in so many ways that he was a man whose hunger for purpose and meaning could not be satisfied by what mere mortals are running after.

Shakti Gawain in his book “Living in the Light” says, “ I could see that the things that are supposed to provide significance in life like education, success, money were in themselves ephemeral, meaningless, empty…”

This seems to talk of Don whose walk in this life manifested the light he held in his heart. This light made him recognise the needs of others and how he could lift them up. Don noticed me at the Kgotla and understood my passion for healing others, especially the youth who seemed to be caught up in the transition between a new Botswana and the old one.

He then pushed me to come up with the TRADITIONAL WISDOM COLUMN in The Voice Newspaper.

I am one of the many lives he did not just touch but transformed.

The good news is that the purpose and meaning of Don’s life will not be buried with him but Francistown and indeed Botswana will forever see the foot print he lives behind.

Rest in eternal peace Don.
